Rob McCormick launched Avatara in 2005, driven by his ambition to provide enterprise-level IT services specifically designed for small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) through a secure, proprietary, and utterly internal system. Before establishing Avatara, Rob was at the helm of Savvis as CEO from 1999 to 2005, where he led the innovation of the first virtualized managed hosting platform. His leadership was marked by successful strategic acquisitions, equity financings, and significant corporate growth, which resulted in one of the largest technology IPOs of that period. Before Savvis, he occupied the position of COO at Bridge Information Systems, which was transformed into Savvis in 2000.
